I mean... I find it harder to find a guy that's attractive than a girl, and I usually work under the assumption that a large portion of the male population (as influenced my masculine social norms, blah blah liberal stuffs) is jerks.

Out of all the countries in North America that don't outright punish people for being gay, there are only two that made being gay legal later than the U.S.
That's twenty whole countries.
Most of which, we'd probably consider "uncivilized"... realized that being able to have consensual sex with someone is okay regardless of gender... before we did.
